A Junior Systems Engineer is an entry-level position in the field of systems engineering. Systems engineering is a discipline that focuses on designing, integrating, and managing complex systems throughout their entire lifecycle. These systems can range from computer systems and software applications to large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

•Supporting Senior Engineers: Junior Systems Engineers often work closely with more experienced engineers to learn and assist in various tasks related to system design, development, and maintenance.

•Documentation: They may be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation, including system design specifications, process documentation, and configuration management records.

•Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues with systems, applications, or infrastructure components. This may involve troubleshooting hardware or software problems.

•Testing: Conducting tests and quality assurance activities to ensure that systems meet performance and reliability standards.

•System Maintenance: Assisting in routine system maintenance tasks, such as updates, patches, and backups.

•Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software developers, network engineers, and project managers, to ensure systems meet project requirements.

•Requirements Analysis: Participating in requirements gathering and analysis to understand the needs of the system users and stakeholders.

•Research: Staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to contribute to the improvement of systems and processes.

•Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Nutanix)

•Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)

•Experience with networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

•Experience with security technologies (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption)

•Experience with programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)

Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field

•2-3 years of experience in system administration or a related field

•Strong knowledge of operating systems, software, and hardware

•Experience with system troubleshooting and problem solving

•Ability to work independently and as part of a team

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
